Embedded software engineer

You work as an embedded software engineer in our R&D team, on devices we design from the circuit board to the cloud. One moment you are deep in C and C++ on a Yocto Linux image or a Zephyr microcontroller, the next you are working on a well-designed product with an HMI that feels smooth and a cloud platform clients use to manage their devices remotely. We are looking for someone who feels at home in both worlds.

What you do

• You write embedded software in C and C++, from drivers and system services to the application logic on the device.
• You build and maintain Yocto Linux images and BSPs for our own panel PCs and for clients, and you work on Zephyr firmware for microcontrollers.
• You bring hardware to life: you talk to CAN, serial buses, I²C and SPI, and debug with a logic analyzer or a scope when needed.
• You build video and camera pipelines with GStreamer, for example for camera systems on machines or embedded vision.
• You work on the rest of the product too: the link with the HMI, secure boot, OTA updates and the connection to our cloud platform Otaryx.
• You help shape the architecture of a device and work closely with colleagues in electronics, HMI and cloud.

What we expect

• You have a good knowledge of C and C++, and you feel at home close to the hardware.
• You have experience with embedded Linux, preferably Yocto, or with an RTOS such as Zephyr. Knowing both is a plus.
• You are also interested in the side of the product the user sees: a thoughtful HMI, a well-designed device and a management platform in the cloud.
• Knowledge of Git, CI, build systems and unit testing is a plus, as is experience with GStreamer, Qt, Python or network protocols such as MQTT.
• You enjoy working in a team, and you can also take on a part of the work on your own.
• You speak and write English well. Dutch or French is a bonus.
